The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), in Guwahati, was established by an Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, to impart higher education and conduct advanced research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology. NIPER- Guwahati is looking for Professors to join the institute in a variety of departments, as listed below. NIPER-G is looking for people with a high level of achievement, scientific maturity, the ability to undertake research, mentor students, and leadership abilities in the field.

Professor (Pharmaceutics) Pay level 14
Number of Positions / reservation / Max age limit : One/ OBC / 50 Years
Essential and Desirable Qualifications :

Essential: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First Class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree (M.Pharm / MS) in Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations) /Industrial Pharmacy with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with a good publications track record (in SCI journals) / Patents in the above-mentioned areas.

Desirable: The candidate should have leadership qualities and sufficient experience doing independent research in the above specialization in terms of mentoring Masters and doctoral students. Candidates with a minimum of four years experience at the Associate Professor or equivalent level, who have completed at least two EMR or industry-sponsored projects, have sufficient administrative experience to lead the department, and have conducted research in the above areas with translation potential will be given preference.

Professor (Pharmaceutical analysis) Pay level 14

Essential and Desirable Qualifications :

Essential: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Analytical Chemistry with a First Class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree (Master in Pharm / MS / M.Sc.) in Pharmaceutical Analysis / QC & QA / Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching/ Research / Industrial experience with a good publication track record (in SCI journals) / Patents in the above-mentioned areas. 
Desirable: Analytical technique development and validation, impurity profiling, and working knowledge of cGMP quality norms and FDA/ICH regulatory requirements are required of the candidate.

The candidate should be familiar with chromatographic equipment such as HPLC, LCMS-MS, GCMS, ICPMS, and others. Candidates with a minimum of 4 years experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent, as well as suitable administrative expertise and managerial qualities for maintaining complex analytical equipment and managing the department, will be given preference. In terms of guiding master’s and doctoral students, the candidate should have adequate skills with independent research.

Professor (Pharmacology & Toxicology) Pay level 14
Number of Positions / reservation / Max age limit : One/UR/ 50 Years
Essential and Desirable Qualifications :

Essential: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First Class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree (Master in Pharm / MS / M. Sc) in Pharmacology & Toxicology / Regulatory Toxicology with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching / Research / Industrial experience with an excellent publication track record in SCI journals / Patents in the above-mentioned areas.

Desirable: Leadership qualities in several areas of in vitro and in vivo pharmacology and toxicology are desired. The candidate should also have scientific and administrative leadership experience in managing / supervising centers of excellence / national centers such as the Central Animal House and the Drug Testing Facility, among others. Candidates with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent, completion of at least two EMR or industry-sponsored projects, and enough administrative experience to oversee the Department will be given preference.

Terms & Conditions and General Instructions

  1. Eligibility, Age, Education, and Work Experience
    a) The pay scales listed are from the 7th Central Pay Commission.
    b) All qualifications must be legally recognised.
    c) Candidates’ qualifications and experience must be relevant to the post being applied for.
    d) Age and experience criteria will be calculated as of the advertisement’s closing date. After completing a post-graduate programme and obtaining a Ph.D., experience will be considered with the production of an experience certificate. e) A candidate’s qualifications and experience alone do not qualify them to be considered for a position. f) The Institute reserves the right to limit the number of candidates invited to participate in the selection process to a reasonable number based on relevant criteria, which may be higher than the minimum required.
  2. In all matters relating to (I) eligibility; (ii) acceptance or rejection of the application; (iii) incomplete or incorrect information (if any) furnished by the applicant; (iv) short listing and selection; and (v) offer of appointment on a regular or contract basis, the Institute reserves the right to act and make decisions as it sees fit. In this regard, no requests or correspondence of any kind will be entertained.
  3. As of the date of submission of the applications, no vigilance or disciplinary case shall have been considered, initiated, pending, or taken against the candidate. Candidates who fall under this category are ineligible and should not apply. If such a change occurs after the candidate submits the application, the Institute must be notified as soon as possible.
  4. h) Neither the candidates nor any law enforcement agency should have taken action against them, nor should they have been convicted by any court of law, whether in India or overseas.

Vacancies and Positions:

  1. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any, some, or all of the advertised jobs; or to cancel the advertisement in whole or in part, without assigning any cause and without incurring any liability. If the need arises, the Institute also has the right to extend the application deadline; restrict, enlarge, amend, or alter the requirements or recruitment process in whole or part, without providing any notice or assigning any cause.
  2. Candidates who match the eligibility requirements but are not considered appropriate for the positions applied for during the selection process may be offered positions at a lower wage level (or) on a contract basis, if necessary.
  3. For deserving candidates, such as those with remarkable merit or a track record of achievement, higher base compensation may be considered.
  4. Direct Recruitment appointments are regular in nature, with a probationary period as per Institute regulations, and will be confirmed based on the incumbent’s good performance.

Age and Relaxation:

OBC: 3 years against reserved posts only SC/ST: 5 years against reserved posts alone PWD with 40% minimum disability: 3 years against reserved posts only For all the posts specified as suitable for the relevant type of handicap, 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC, and 10 years for others; subject to a maximum age of 56 years on the final date for receipt of application EX Servicemen: As per Indian government regulations.
Relaxable up to 5 years for departmental applicants, as per the guidelines for Direct Recruitment appointments (Applicable to the candidates working in DoP or in any NIPERs)

Disqualification:

  1. If a candidate is found to be ineligible at any point during the recruitment process, he or she will be disqualified, his or her candidature will be canceled, and if selected, the offered appointment may be canceled, withdrawn, or service terminated without compensation or liability on the part of the Institute. At every level of the recruitment process, suppressing any information (in whole or in part) or providing incorrect or misleading information (in whole or in part) may result in similar penalties.
  2. Applications that are not submitted in the proper format, are incorrectly filled out, or are incomplete may be rejected outright. no correspondence will be accepted in this case.
  3. The receipt of a letter (if any) indicating that you will be attending the selection process does not imply that you will be appointed.
  4. The Institute maintains the right to withdraw, cancel, or amend any message, offer, or appointment made to the candidate if an inadvertent error in the selection process is detected at any stage, including after the offer of appointment has been issued, without incurring any obligation.
  5. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.

Other Terms & Conditions:

a) The Institute seeks to have a gender-balanced workforce, so female candidates are encouraged to apply in particular.
b) All hiring decisions must be based on the recommendations of a properly formed Screening Committee and Selection Committee.
c) The interpretation and decision of the Institute’s Competent (Appointing) Authority shall be final and binding in all issues of recruitment, including screening, shortlisting, selection, pay fixation, and so on.
d) No TA/DA will be paid to applicants who are called for a Written Test, Skill Test, or Interview.
g) Any disputes (if any) will be resolved by the competent courts of Guwahati.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should apply using the prescribed format, which is available on the website (www.niperguwahati.ac.in), between 11:00 a.m. on October 22, 2021, and 5:00 p.m. on November 28, 2021.
a) The fee is Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) and must be paid using the portal’s URL. Candidates are required to input the reference number, payment date, and amount on the NIPER Guwahati recruiting site after submitting the fee online; otherwise, the final submission would be denied. Under no circumstances will the fee be refunded or changed once it has been paid. Candidates in the SC/ST and PwD categories do not have to pay a fee. Candidate, after submitting an application and paying the fee, a PDF containing the completed form and fee receipt will be generated. Applicants must print the PDF application form and fee receipt, sign it, and mail it to NIPER-Guwahati along with any self-attested appropriate supporting papers by the deadline listed below.

b) Candidates working for the government or government organizations (e.g., CFTIs, Autonomous Institutions, Universities, etc.) must apply through the proper channels or present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview; if selected, they must present a Relieving Letter when reporting for duty. Such candidates may submit advance applications; however, if found eligible and shortlisted, they will only be permitted to participate in the selection process if their application is received through the proper channels and/or a No Objection Certificate is presented on or before the interview date.

c) Candidates are recommended to check the NIPER Guwahati website (niperguwahati.ac.in) for updates on a regular basis. Amendments and corrigenda (if any) will be posted exclusively on the Institute’s website.

d) Applications must be accompanied by the following documents:

i. Purpose Statement (maximum of 1000 Words)
ii. Your intended Institute contribution (maximum of 1000 words)
iii. Notable educational and professional accomplishments iv. Awards, Rewards, Recognitions, and/or professional affiliations v. Relevant and non-relative professional references (three) with Name, Designation, Organization, e-Mail ID, Mobile, and Landline
vi. A Category Certificate (if applicable) from a competent body, valid as of the application deadline.

g) Applications must be completely filled out in every way. Additional sheets may be used as needed and appropriately referenced. All information provided must be backed up by documentation. Applications that are incomplete, inaccurate, or sketchy are likely to be rejected.
f) Other than the documentation requested above, no other certificate or documentation is required to be attached or submitted at the time of application submission. Only short-listed applicants will be asked to provide such documentation later.

g) Completed applications with ink signatures, as well as the documents listed above, should be delivered by Speed Post or Courier to the address listed below, ensuring that it reaches the Institute by 1700 hours on December 6, 2021. It is emphasized that no additional certificates or supporting papers are required at this time. I) Due to any postal delay/loss of application/document submitted in transit, the institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of application (s) within the given time frame. Applications received after the given deadline will not be considered.
j) Only short-listed and selected candidates will be contacted by the Institute. It is expressly stated that no correspondence will be considered from applicants who have not been shortlisted for an interview or who have not been selected for an appointment.
