Cleaning and operation Procedure for Shipper Sealing Machine. It is used in seal boxes by using BOPP Tape in pharmaceuticals and other industries.

1.0 Objective:
The purpose of this procedure is to establish guidelines for the Cleaning & Operation of Shipper Sealing Machine.

2.0 Scope:
This procedure applies to the Cleaning & Operation of Shipper Sealing Machine within the production area.

3.0 Responsibility:
Officer, Executive – Production Department
Manager – Production Department

5.0 Cleaning Procedure for sealing machine:
5.1 Type A: Changeover within Similar Product and Potency
5.1.1 Remove the “TO BE CLEANED” label and replace it with an “UNDER CLEANING” label on the machine.
5.1.2 Ensure that the shipper sealing machine is switched OFF.
5.1.3 Use a dry, lint-free duster to clean the machine body, conveyor belt, and utility cables.
5.1.6 Replace the ‘UNDER CLEANING’ status label with a ‘CLEANED’ status label.
5.1.7 Document the cleaning activity in the equipment usage log sheet.

5.2 Type B: Changeover with Different Actives / Colors / Potency
This procedure is applicable when changing to a different product with varying actives, colors, and potency, or after maintenance of contact parts.

5.2.1 Follow the steps from 5.1.1 to 5.1.2.
5.2.2 Disassemble the relevant parts of the shipper sealing machine.
5.2.3 Use a dry, lint-free duster to clean the disassembled parts.
5.2.4 Use a dry, lint-free duster to clean the machine body, conveyor belt, and utility cables.
5.2.5 Reassemble the dismantled parts onto the shipper sealing machine.
5.2.6 Replace the ‘UNDER CLEANING’ status label with a ‘CLEANED’ label.

5.3 Operation of sealing machine
5.3.1 Once line clearance is approved by Quality Assurance (QA), attach the ‘UNDER PROCESS’ label to the machine.
5.3.2 Record the start time of shipper sealing in the equipment usage log sheet.
5.3.3 Activate the main power from the electrical panel.
5.3.4 Retrieve the specific shipper / DFC (Dissolution Friendly Carton) that requires sealing.
5.3.5 Unroll one end of the BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) roll and attach it to the feed roller.
5.3.6 Similarly, set up the lower roller in the same manner.
5.3.7 Place the shipper filled with the required number of weighed cartons onto the machine.
5.3.8 Turn on the switch (Black push button) to initiate both motors into running mode.
5.3.9 Introduce the specific shipper in the forward direction to seal it from the top and bottom sides.
5.3.10 Repeat the above procedure until the batch is completed.
5.3.11 Remove the BOPP tape from the upper/lower roller of the machine at the end of packing.
5.3.12 Document the operation time in the equipment usage log sheet.
5.3.13 Attach a ‘TO BE CLEANED’ label to the machine.

5.4 Precaution
5.4.1 During operation, avoid contact with the BOPP tape-cutting device.
5.4.2 Ensure proper height adjustment to prevent shipper damage.
5.4.3 Keep the upper and lower BOPP tape rollers centered at all times.
