1.0 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this procedure is to establish a guideline for making entries in the inward/outward register.

2.0 SCOPE: This procedure applies to making entries in the inward/outward register within the production area.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: The following personnel in the production department are responsible for implementing this procedure:
Officer
Executive
Production Manager

4.0 DEFINITION(S):

NA (Not Applicable)

5.0 PROCEDURE:

5.1 Inward/Outward Register Entries:

5.1.1 Make an inward entry when the material of a particular batch is transferred from a previous stage to the quarantine/holding area.

5.1.2 Make an outward entry when the material is taken from the quarantine/holding area for further processing.

5.1.3 At the time of inward entry, record the following information:
i. Name of the product
ii. Batch number
iii. Container number/Lot number with date
iv. Total number of containers/Lots
v. Signature of the concerned production/packing officer who has checked the material.

5.1.4 At the time of outward entry, record the following information:
i. Container number/Lot number with date
ii. Signature of the concerned production/packing officer who has checked the material.

5.1.5 Use the format provided in Annexure-I to make the inward/outward entries.
